meeting NOCAIDA 7 Nov 2018Under the Alliance for Green Revolution in Africa AGRA project to increase rice productivity and improve income and food security of Farmers in Niger State, the North Central Agro Input Dealers Association organized a collaborative partnership meet between agro input producer and suppliers and dealers on the 7th November 2018 at Minna. In attendance were various keys producers and suppliers of agro inputs like Notore fertilizers, Premier seed, Saro agro sciences, Memorial seeds, Harvest field, Multichem Industries Limited, Fertilizer Producers & Suppliers Association of Nigeria, small and medium agro input dealers across the state.
In his welcome address the AGRA Niger state Rice Consortium Project Director Chief (Sir) Patrick Esogban expressed joy with the turnout of the participants, he said the AGRA project was a special intervention not only for rice farmers to boost rice production in the state but also its an opportunity for input dealers to develop their market across the state, he added that with the help of this project over 100 agro dealers were trained and engaged, matching grants were disbursed to registered SMEs Agro dealers to stock shop, 2 seeds companies were engaged and over 3 trucks of fertilizers were supplied.
While President of NOCAIDA Alhaji R.A. Lawal in his keynote address stresses the importance of organizing such kind of collaborative meeting, he added that agro dealers coming under the umbrella of an association does not only ensures the delivery of quality inputs to farmers but also ensures that they are certified and documented, which in turn will save them from raid and embracement by quality control and law enforcement agents.
In their good will messages, Notore, Harvest field, FEPSAN, Multichem, Saro Agro, Premier seeds all pledge their support to the success of the project and express their willingness to participate in this partnership.
Mr. Titus NOCAIDA in the closing remarks thanked all the participants for honoring the invitation and contributions in the course of the meeting, he finally wish everyone journey mercies to their various destinations. FEPSAN
