usaidTeam Leader of the Feed the Future Nigeria Agricultural Policy, Dr Osagie Aimiuwu says the Project sponsored by USAID is aimed at transforming five million Nigerian farmers.
Aimiuwu disclosed this during a meeting with stakeholders held at the National Agricultural Extension Research and Liaisons Services (NAERLS) in Zaria, Kaduna State.
The Team leader explained the programme began in Nigeria three years ago covering seven states and currently extended to other states where insurgency had uprooted farming communities to increase farmers’ yield through the use of modern technologies.
He further said that the meeting reviewed past activities of the project over the years and set a landmark for the next two years.
Dr. Osagie admonished NGOs in the country to hold government accountable in the formulation and implementation of policies targeted at ensuring the safety and betterment of farmers.
