The Executive Secretary of FEPSAN, Alhaji Ahmed Rabiu Kwa represented by Mr. Segun Adesola (Technical Officer) in his address welcomed everyone that came to attend the meeting and gave brief introduction of FEPSAN by highlighting its vision, mission, goals and objectives

The Chairperson of the event Prof. Engr. Ogbonnaya Chukwu in his opening address said that it is FEPSAN idea to promote production, supply and fertilizer use among Nigerian farmers. FEPSAN have a strong leadership headed by Mr. Thomas Etuh (President of FEPSAN) to ensure high quality fertilizer at the right quantity and time. The predicament of farmers is that they have little or no knowledge about fertilizer, it is in view of this FEPSAN is organizing a training for farmers. The only fertilizer blending plants in the South East is Ebonyi Fertilizer and Chemical Blending Plant and is not being patronized by states in the South Eastern region except Abia state. Therefore he encouraged other states especially south east states to patronize the blending plant. The blending plant is among the blending plants participating in the PFI and urge distributors especially in the South East to register with FEPSAN through the blending plants so as to participate and benefits from the PFI program. Fertilizer application time and quality is very important and therefore encouraged the farmers to take the training seriously. FEPSAN
