IMG 20180628 WA0006Fertilizer Producers and Suppliers Association of Nigeria (FEPSAN) in collaboration with Federal Department of Agriculture Extension (FDAE) of Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and Agricultural Development Project (ADPs) organized one day training for farmers and extension agents across the North West Zone on product knowledge, storage and use, importance of soil testing and fertilizer application method and timing, so that the farmers can have adequate knowledge of the nutritional requirements of crops, nutrient contents of fertilizer products and use method, right time of application for efficiency and effectiveness and enhance the economics of fertilizer application and to increase demand of fertilizer at the small holders level.

The training had in attendance farmers, extension agents, Managing Director of MFB Fertilizer and Chemical Limited, Representative of FDAE and FEPSAN secretariat staff.

The Executive Secretary of FEPSAN, Alhaji Ahmed Rabiu Kwa represented by Mr. Segun J Adesola (Technical Officer) in his address welcomed everyone that came to attend the meeting and gave brief introduction of FEPSAN by highlighting its vision, mission, goals and objectives

The Chairperson of the events Engr. Abdul Kanti in his opening address said it has always been our conviction at FEPSAN that Fertilizer remains a critical input that cannot be ignored if agriculture in Nigeria must attain its acclaimed potential as a credible alternative for generating gainful employment, increasing both private and government revenues in the short and long term. Today training is organized to empower the farmers on fertilizer product knowledge, fertilizer handling, storage and use, importance of soil testing; fertilizer application methods and timing.

He implore the participants to take advantage of the knowledge acquire during the training for increase crop production and profit generation. FEPSAN
